The DTMD University for Digital Technologies in Medicine and Dentistry Luxembourg S.à.r.l. is launching its own study center for in-service postgraduate university education for licensed medical/dental professionals in Berlin. Furthermore, psychotherapists, pharmacists, certified medical technicians as well as other members of the health professions with an academic background are addressed.

The DTMD University is a private university under Luxembourg law, which is recognized by the state as an “Organisme de formation continue” in the field of university continuing education in healthcare and related disciplines. A special feature of DTMD is its orientation towards digital technologies. As a training organization, the Luxembourg University of Continuing Education is DIN-ISO certified according to the European Qualifications Framework for levels 6 (Bachelor), 7 (Master) and 8 (Doctorate) and is committed to the strict transparency, permeability and quality requirements of the Bruges/Copenhagen Process of the EU Commission. Its study programs are internationally accredited according to the “Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area”.

The new study center of DTMD University is responsible for the internationalization and establishment of existing and new study programs of the university in Europe as well as in Asia and the USA. Associated with this is the development and implementation of forward-looking research and study projects in the field of digital technologies in the entire healthcare sector.

Prof. Dr. Hartmut Schröder, Vice Dean and Founding Director of the Berlin Study Center of DTMD University, commented:

Prof. Dr. Hartmut Schröder

“Digitalization in healthcare is associated with a paradigm shift from an input orientation to a procedural outcome orientation.
Teaching and learning are dynamically anchored in an open digital ecosystem of postgraduate professional development.”

Prof. Dr. André Reuter, President of DTMD University adds, “The postgraduate continuing education programs of DTMD University specifically promote the flexibilization of educational biographies on the basis of the European Qualifications Framework and ensure the continuous permeability of educational levels demanded by the EU Commission.”

The aim of DTMD University Berlin is to enrich the educational landscape in Berlin by offering highly qualified academic continuing education programs and to make the new study center a center of attraction for interested parties from all over the world. The starting point for this are five already established medical master’s degree programs. Further master’s degree programs are already in the pipeline for 2022.
