About the program

DTMD University's Master of Science (MSc) in Orthodontics combines advanced academic and clinical training in orthodontics, with patient care experience (clinical and non-clinical) in a two-year part-time postgraduate program. In short: evidence-based theory and clinically relevant practice for the ambitious practitioner at the university level.

Our students experience well-rounded and varied learning and development opportunities that are holistically international according to current international standards. Your continuing education is a matter close to DTMD University's heart. The continuing education studies take place at various international locations in presence and online. Moderne Didaktik ist für die DTMD University dabei ebenso selbstverständlich wie aktuelles Fachwissen.Modern didactics are just as much a matter of course for DTMD University as up-to-date specialist knowledge. With your degree, they will have the knowledge, skills and experience to successfully treat the most complex cases within orthodontics. Its dedicated dynamic team of lecturers is therefore composed exclusively of recognized specialists in orthodontics with extensive practical experience and many years of teaching experience.

In addition to the treatment of children and adolescents, which has been predominantly practiced in orthodontics up to the present day, the treatment of adults has been given a wide field. New treatment techniques and methods, from aligners to TADs, from straighwire techniques and biomechanics to digital appliance design, from CMD to orthognathic surgery, will be taught and trained in depth and in a hands-on manner. This makes orthodontics a treatment method for all ages and the field of orthodontic activity in general as well as specialized everyday practice more effective and significantly expanded. For DTMD University, digitization does not begin in the future. It has long since become a successful part of everyday life.

In the course of your studies, you will complete a master's thesis. After the defense of the thesis and the oral final examination, students may use the internationally recognized academic title "Master of Science Orthodontics". In full: "Postgraduate Master of Science" (MSc) in "Orthodontics" according to the award certificate of the AHPGS Freiburg i.Br. of December 10, 2020.

The internationally recognized Master of Science (MSc) in Orthodontics enables and empowers dentists of all specialties to pursue a professional focus in this field. It does not entitle the holder to use the designation/title as a specialist dentist in orthodontics. Of course, the program is also open to specialists who would like to deepen their knowledge and secure it academically.
