About the program
Digitization in medicine has been advancing rapidly in recent years and is increasingly influencing medical practice. Manual medicine is a medical specialty that primarily uses the hand as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool, and its success is significantly linked to the empathy of those treating the patient.
This apparent contradiction between increasing digitalization and "analog" medical practice represents a central theme of the course.
The supporting possibilities of digital technologies with regard to support in education and training as well as patient management during and after the treatment phase will be highlighted.
On the other hand, initial investigations into the digital representability of haptics mean that manual medicine will not be spared from digital influences in diagnostics and therapy.
This necessitates well-founded practical and scientific training in manual medicine in order for physicians to be able to cope with future digital developments and to be able to accompany and control them in the best possible way.
